DeSantis Says that Relations between Florida and Georgia Will Tighten If Abrams Wins Election

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis stated on Friday that if Stacey Abrams wins Georgia’s governor race this fall, the two states will enter a “cold war,” Fox News informed.

DeSantis addressed a press conference saying that if Abrams wins the election and becomes the new governor, a cold war between Florida and Georgie will commence, The Hill informed.

DeSantis also said that it will be tough having Castro on the South and Abrams on the North, hoping that the people will take care that this will not happen, and adding that he appreciates the fellow Georgians.

Abrams, who is a Democrat, is competing against Brian Kemp, a Republican.

Abrams was defeated by Kemp in a close election in 2018 that she has yet to concede.

Since then, she has become a Democratic Party hero, credited by liberals with driving more Black people out to vote and helping Democrats Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff win elections in Georgia.

David Perdue, a former Republican senator, is also competing against Kemp.

According to a representative for DeSantis, who talked to Newsweek, the governor was just drawing a parallel between the Cold War’s strong ideological divides. The spokesperson also said that I f Stacey Abrams is elected governor of Georgia, they should expect more heavy-handed government, taxation, and bureaucratic control from her administration. Governor DeSantis is committed to keeping Florida free and putting people first.

DeSantis’ office did not respond to a late-night request for comment from Fox News.

The Hill stated that Kemp and Perdue are both ahead of Abrams in the current polling.
