Americans Troll Biden Again with #BareShelvesBiden Over Supply Issues

Suffering the consequences of the continuous supply chain issues in the US, Americans posted again this week numerous photos of empty supermarket shelves, making #BareShelvesBiden one of Twitter’s top political trending topics.

Just like conservatives, angry social media users also blame President Joe Biden for the bare shelves and supply issues across the US and have continued displaying photos of empty supermarket shelves with some of them complaining that they feel as if they’re in a third world country.

It appears that the social media campaign is spearheaded by conservative commentator Jack Posobiec, Human Events senior editor, who’s encouraging Biden’s critics to publish their own images.

Arguing that similar shortages also happened under former President Trump, Biden’s supporters shot back at the campaign with their own photos of fully stocked shelves in local supermarkets while liberal commentator Caroline Orr Bueno went a step further, suggesting the hashtag was organized by robots.

Bueno also called on the social media platform to look into how it was able to trend.

Twitter hashtag #BareShelvesBiden first started trending in October 2021 as the supply chain crisis intensified when some Americans blamed Biden on social media and mocked his administration’s $3.5 trillion “Build Back Better” economic plan.

Social media trends reflect the rising tension over pandemic-driven inflation and mounting supply chain issues driven by factors such as the national labor and raw-material shortages, increased transportation costs, delays in production, and in port congestion, that have prompted the Biden administration to broker a deal to expand 24-hour operations at the Port of Los Angeles.

Ever since Biden’s inauguration in January 2021, the US has been plagued with supply chain issues, a rise in fuel prices, and heavy inflation that 46. US president obviously wasn’t aware of up until last week when a family friend complained Americans are now forced to pay over $5 for a pound of hamburger meat.
