US Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman and EU Foreign Secretary-General Stefano Sannino recognized the importance of diplomatic contacts with China.
Both diplomats agreed on this after previous consultations between the US and the EU on China.
“Sherman and Sannino recognized the importance of diplomatic contacts with China, especially where their interests intersect and where constructive cooperation is possible,” the State Department’s said on its website.
Brussels and Washington noted that they should work with China on the climate crisis and healthcare. Earlier, the Deputy Head of the State Department Victoria Nuland also said that if Russia contributes to the destabilization of the situation in Ukraine, the US will impose “sanctions” against Russia, which “did not exist before.”
At the same time, according to her, Washington will always remain on the side of Kyiv.
