Ocasio-Cortez Interrupts McCarthy to Say she Voted for Biden to be the New Roosevelt

Democratic Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez from New York claimed that she voted for US President Joe Biden aiming to make him a transformation figure like Franklin Delano Roosevelt was, Fox News informed.

Kevin McCarthy, the House Minority Leader, cited Congresswoman Abigail Spanberger saying that no one elected Joe Biden to be Franklin Delano Roosevelt. McCarthy said this in a speech where he criticized President’s Build Back Better bill on Thursday.

After McCarthy said those words, a female voice was heard saying the words, “I did.”

According to the Capitol Hill producer and reporter Haley Talbott who works with NBC News and MSNBC, the female voice that can be heard is that of the New York Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

Sahil Kapur, an NBC News National Political Reporter has made a retweet on Talbot and attached video footage of the moment. After that, the Democratic progressive Ocasio-Cortez retweeted Kapur.

Congresswoman Spanberger said that President Biden won the presidential election in 2020 by running a campaign as a moderate, and defeating the other more radical opponents in the primaries. However, it seems as Joe Biden has adopted a leftist position in governing, and maybe he is seeing himself as a transformative president, just like Roosevelt was.

Ocasio-Cortez has worked with the team of the President during his campaign, incentivizing Joe Biden to accept positions that are aligned with her Democratic Socialist beliefs.
