Republicans Outnumber Democrats in Florida for First Time in History

For the first time in history, Florida has registered a higher number of Republican voters than Democrat ones, Fox News informed.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis spoke at the National Conference of State Legislatures and said that when he got elected the difference between Republican and Democratic registered voters was 280,000 in favor of the Democrats. However, according to latest statistics the number of registered Republicans surpassed that of the Democrats in the first time in Florida’s history.

The crowd cheered for DeSantis, after which he said that the GOP would have turned out as the winner in the New Jersey Governor race, if the Republicans from the state had not moved to Florida.

DeSantis argued that GOP members are going to Floridna in order to flee the Covid-19 restrictions, crime, lawlessness and some other factors.

The Govenor also said that Democrats failed to govern well in those parts where they are in control.

DeSantis also said that once the Democrats take over, places get instantly destroyed.

According to Miami Herald, the registered Democrats in 2008, outnumbered the Republicans by about 700,000 voters but that gap has been slowly narrowing down since 2012. In September 2021, the gap was only 24,000 voters in favor for the Democrats.

Helen Aguirre Ferré, the executive director of the Republican Party of Florida stated that the enthusiasm that governs right now for the support of registered Republicans is unprecedented, and is a real milestone in the history of the state.
