Israel’s influence on the US Congress has fallen sharply recently, former US President Donald Trump said on November 2, The Jerusalem Post reported.

During an interview with Trump, which he gave to journalist Ari Hoffman, the presenter decided to joke and told the story of how he bought a yarmulke with Trump’s name on it, and “when he asked the seller if they sold the same, but with the name of the current US President Joe Biden, he just laughed.”

In this regard, Trump noted that after he departed from the post of head of state, dramatic changes have taken place in the US Congress.

“So great was the degree of Israel’s influence in Congress, that 10-15 years ago, Israel controlled the Congress. But today, when the Democrats and the Joe Biden administration are in power, the opposite is true. It is amazing, I have never seen such drastic changes in such a short time,” the politician said.

The former US president made special mention of several American Democratic parliamentarians, such as Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Ilhan Omar, noting that they hate Israel.

“They hate it passionately – they control Congress and Israel no longer has influence there. Israel had that kind of power – and rightfully so – over Congress, and now it doesn’t,” Trump said.
