California Gov prposed new $2.7 billion disaster responsee package to fight coronavirus

Governor of California Gavin Newsom signed a new bill on Friday, that requires all state public schools and colleges to stock the restrooms with free menstrual items, Fox News informed.

The action comes as many advocates for women’s rights pushed for women to have affordable access to tampons, pads, and other related products.

The latest state efforts are based on a 2017 legislation that requires low-income schools in areas that are disadvantaged to offer students free menstrual items.

The latest amendments now include grades 6 to 12, the community colleges, as well as the systems of California State University and the University of California starting from the school year 2022-23. The new bill also advises all private schools and colleges to follow this policy.
