De Blasio to Keep Mask Mandate in Schools Enforced Despite CDC New Guidelines

Bill de Blasio, the New York City Mayor said on Monday that the city is planning to keep the school mask mandate in force when students get back in their classrooms this fall, Fox News informed.

The move comes despite the new guidance by the federal government which states that fully vaccinated students and teachers will not be needing a mask in the classroom.

After he was asked about the CDC’s new mask guidelines, the NYC mayor said that they have been constantly working with the CDC, but also are very careful, due to the city’s past situation with the Covid-19.

However, he also said that he is confident that following these guidelines they will be able to get all the children back to school in September.
