GOP Lawmakers Send Letter to US Olympic Committee to Voice Concern over Athletes who Protest against the United States

A big group of GOP lawmakers has sent a letter to the US Olympic Committee voicing concern over the political statements of US athletes that will represent the country in the Tokyo Summer Games, Fox News informed.

The House Republicans pleaded with the US Olympic Committee to issue a reminder for the athletes that they must adhere to Rule 50 of the International Olympic Committee charter, which prohibits any kind of political expression.

The letter, penned by Representative Matt Rosendale says that the signatories are deeply concerned about some growing trends where US athletes use the international platform by the Olympic games to display divisive and hateful ideologies that in fact are anti-American.
