President of the American Federation of Teachers, Randi Weingarten said on Wednesday that several GOP lawmakers are “bullying” teachers for teaching race’s honest history, Fox News informed.
Weingarten said these claims at a live-streaming event where the main figure was Ibram X Kendi, a controversial author of “How to Be an Antiracist.”
Weingarten claimed that there are GOP lawmakers who are trying to impede their work and stop the teachers from teaching children honest history.
She continued that the reason for these actions might be the next election.
Her comments were made during the opening of the event where she also spoke about how those culture warriors are calling everything a critical race theory.
Weingarten explained that any discussion of race, discrimination or racism is labeled as CRT, in order to make it more toxic.
