Democrats Reiterate US Supreme Court Packing Calls

On Thursday, Democrats have voiced their dissatisfaction with the final decisions of the US Supreme Court’s 2020-2021 term and accused the high court justices of severely damaging the political system, Fox News informed.

In some of the cases, Democrats have reiterated their calls for packing the highest court with more liberal justices that will be appointed by the current US President Joe Biden.

One of the decisions was on the challenge of election laws in Arizona which includes a prohibition of ballot harvesting. The other decision was on a California legislation that mandated nonprofit organizations to disclose the largest donors to the state government for law enforcement matters.

The Supreme Court upheld the Arizona legislation, as some liberals argued it would restrict voting rights, while conservatives backed it saying that it strengthens the election security measures.

The justices, however, tossed the California legislation arguing that it impeded freedom of speech.
