RON’S COMMENT: Biden has slipped, but he’s still about where he was in the 2020 election’s popular vote (51.3%). Today’s average is based on five polls, ranging from 48% (Economist) to 55% (Reuters). Biden’s disapproval rating averages 44% today (+1 since yesterday).

RON’S COMMENT: China is seen, by far, to be the biggest threat to the U.S.––but there is a wide partisan gap: 66% of Republicans, 29% of Democrats and 51% of independents say China is the biggest threat…. Also: 9% of Republicans, 35% of Democrats and 11% of independents say Russia is the biggest threat.

  • 5% of Republicans, 9% of Democrats and 6% of independents have a favorable view of China’s Xi Jinping. 
  • 17% of Republicans, 54% of Democrats and 22% of independents have a favorable view of France’s Macron
  • 25% of Republicans, 60% of Democrats and 29% of independents have a favorable view of Germany’s Merkel.
  • 18% of Republicans, 10% of Democrats and 13% of independents have a favorable view of Russia’s Putin.

RON’S COMMENT: 45% of Republicans, 59% of Democrats and 46% of independents say the U.S. has a responsibility to give military assistance in trouble spots around the world when it is asked to by its allies.
