Top Justice Department Official Resigns amid Communication Controversy

John Demers, top official in the Department of Justice’s National Security Division is resigning fro his post by the end of the month, in the wake of recent revelations that the Trump’s DOJ pulled communication records of Congress members and reporters, Fox News informed.

Officials from DOJ also said that Demers has been planning to resign for a long time in order to be more with his family.

However, the news arrives one day after Chuck Schumer, the Senate Majority Leader said that Demers should testify in front of the Congress members by will, or he will face a subpoena in order to provide answers about the collection of data. Schumer also said that Bill Bar and Jeff Sessions, who are former attorneys general should also appear before Congress and give their testimonies.
