Supreme Court Requests Brief from DOJ over Harvard Case

The US Supreme Court on Monday urged Biden’s Justice Department to enclose their views on a case that covers an affirmative action at the Harvard University, CNBC informed.

The SCOTUS move might be a signal of the court interest in a case that could curtail the use of race in admissions in higher education.

The unsigned order sent by SCOTUS, requests a brief from Elizabeth Prelogar, the acting Solicitor General, voicing “the views of the US.” The action often suggests that the court will in the end decide to hear a certain case, but not all the time.

The move also might prolong the litigation, even if SCOTUS decides to consider this case.
