President Biden to Host NATO Secretary General ahead of Brussels Summit

President Joe Biden will host on Monday NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg at the White House for meeting ahead of a June 14 summit of the Alliance in Brussels, The Washington Post reports.

Biden and Stoltenberg will meet at 4:30 p.m. to discuss the NATO Summit and the many issues on the NATO agenda, including reinforcing transatlantic security in the face of challenges from Russia and China, according to Biden’s schedule.

White House press secretary added that they’ll also discuss adapting NATO to address threats like cyberattacks and climate change and increasing equitable sharing of responsibility among allies.

National security adviser Jake Sullivan will brief reporters on the meeting at 12:30 p.m. today.

During Stoltenberg’s visit to Washington D.C., he will also meet  with Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin, National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan and members of Congress (to June 8).
