Senator Graham Claims Only Sanctions Will Force China Help in COVID Origin Probe

U.S. Republican Senator Lindsey Graham called Wednesday for sanctions on China claiming it won’t agree otherwise to a transparent probe into the origins of the coronavirus pandemic, New York Post reports.

Graham told Fox News’ “America Reports” said the only way China’s going to respond is when the world makes them respond, so he intends to introduce those sanctions relatively soon.

Asked about the President Biden’s administration request for intelligence agencies to investigate the possibility that COVID-19 originates in a lab in Wuhan, Graham said that he doesn’t think the agencies will be able to determine that without transparency from the Chinese government.

Previously on Wednesday, Biden gave the US intelligence community 90 days to determine in the virus passed naturally from animals to humans or was leaked from the Wuhan Institute of Virology.

Graham believes the only reason Biden’s administration is looking into the theory  is because it is untenable not to, and pointed that if the source of COVID-19 is from a lab in China, the US need to hold China accountable for allowing that to happen.

The lab leak theory gained support over the weekend when The Wall Street Journal reported that three researchers at the Wuhan lab sought hospital treatment for COVID-like symptoms in November 2019,  without confirming that the workers contracted coronavirus.
