Korean War Veteran to be Awarded with Medal of Honor

US President Joe Biden on Friday is set to award the first Medal of Honor since he assumed presidential position. Biden will honor a Korean War veteran for his conspicuous gallantry, the White House informed.

CNBC informed that Moon Jae-In, the President of South Korea, who is currently on an official visit in US, is set to attend the awarding ceremony, the White House stated.

Col. Ralph Puckett Jr. will receive US highest military award. According to the White House press release, Puckett Jr. is a resident of Columbus, Georgia, and he was part of the US military in the Vietnam and Korean Wars.

Puckett is to be awarded for his outstanding acts of intrepidity and gallantry in 1950 in Korea, while he led a unit of Army Rangers into dangerous attack on the enemy lines in a broad daylight.
