Senator Tim Scott, in a response to Joe Biden’s address to Congress, said that the US is not a racist country and while Republican and Democrats are in negotiations of the new police reform at the federal level, the final goal is safer communities and officers that are respected, Fox News informed.

Scott also stated that it is hypocritical to fight bigotry with more bigotry, as President Biden urged Congress to adopt a police reform by the 1 year anniversary of the George Floyd’s death.

He said that understands the frustrations of being stopped multiple times while driving because of the skin color as he is black.

However, he truly believes that “America is not a racist country,” arguing that the President himself, the Vice President and leaders of the House Democrats caucus also are in agreement with him.

He pointed that the real question is whether there is a lingering effect of the the old times when racism prevailed and the answer is absolutely positive. The most important thing is how to solve these problems from now on, he continued.

Scott also stated that he not has much more hope because he thinks the left is finally looking for a solution.
