Mitt Romney Booed at Utah GOP Convention

After getting on stage at the Utah GOP convention on Saturday, Republican Senator Mitt Romney got booed by the audience, Fox News informed.

The senator has previously faced a backlash by fellow GOP members as well as a censure threat due to the votes he gave for the impeachment of former president Donald Trump.

However, Utah GOP Chairman, Derek Brown, intervened the speech Romney started in order to calm down the loud crowd.

Romney stated that his words are always truthful and that he was not a big follower of Trump and his issues. The crowd did not like this and began calling him “communist” and “traitor,” according to The Salt Lake Tribune.

Romney continued that the booing does not bother him and that he has been a Republican all of his life.

Although he received a negative reaction from the crowd, Romney concluded his speech with a positive vibe, saying that everybody needs to come together in strength and unity.

His conclusion was applauded by some people present at the convention, which clearly shows the current division between the pro-Trump voters and traditional conservatives.
