BIDEN JOB APPROVAL: AVERAGE 55%

RON’S COMMENT: Today’s average is based on five polls, ranging from 48% (Rasmussen) to 63% (The Hill). Without these extremes it would be 54%…. Biden’s disapproval rating averages 37% today (-2 from yesterday).

Extends the current pause on student loan payments for Americans with federal student loans through at least September 30

Extends the current moratorium on evictions and foreclosures through at least March 31

RON’S COMMENT: Big majorities of voters favor executive orders dealing with mask use and social distancing, pausing student loan payments as well as evictions and foreclosures. A much smaller majority favors rejoining the Paris Climate accord and voters are split on the travel ban, with no majority either way. However, more voters disapprove of canceling the Keystone XL pipeline permit than favor it…. On Keystone, 63% of Democrats, 30% of independents and only 10% of Republicans approve of Biden’s executive order…. On the Paris Climate accord, 82% of Democrats, 44% of independents and 19% of Republicans approve of Biden’s executive order.

QANON

Favorable: 12%
Unfavorable: 72%
Don’t know: 16%
 
RON’S COMMENTS: Republicans need to be extremely careful with anything that looks like an affiliation with, or acceptance of, QAnon…. Voters who have heard of it are overwhelmingly negative. By party: 53% of Republicans, 86% of Democrats and 65% of independents have unfavorable views of QAnon…. Also worth noting: Two-thirds of the electorate has heard about QAnon.

Approve: 45%
Disapprove: 31%
Not sure: 24%
 
RON’S COMMENT: 12% of Republicans, 77% of Democrats and 36% of independents approve of Biden’s Cabinet nominations.

RON’S COMMENT: Only 38% of voters think President Biden is paying the right amount of attention to the needs and problems of people like them. He needs to get this number up if he’s going to get his program through Congress.
 
Promises, promises: About how many of Joe Biden’s campaign promises do you think he will be able to keep? 
 
All or most of them: 30%
Some of them: 34%
Hardly any of them: 26%
 
RON’S COMMENT: 12% of Republicans, 54% of Democrats and 18% of independents think Biden will be able to keep all or most of his promises…. It should be noted that while only 30% of voters say he will keep all or most of his promises, 52% think he will try to keep them.
