TRUMP JOB APPROVAL: AVERAGE 46%

RON’S COMMENT: Over the past eight days, President Trump’s approval rating average has slipped 2 points…. Today’s average is based on four polls, ranging from 45% (IBD/TIPP) to 47% (The Economist, Rasmussen). The fourth poll is 46%…. Trump’s disapproval rating averages 50% today (same as Thursday), which is 4 points higher than his approval rating.

Biden over Trump: +6 (47-41)
RON’S COMMENT: This is an improvement for Biden, who posted a 3-point lead in this poll last month…. Even though Biden has not been prominent in the media lately––much to the chagrin of many of his supporters––he’s holding leads in national and key state polls. Perhaps being out of the public eye is helping Biden?
NATIONAL: DEMOCRATIC NOMINATION
Among Democratic primary voters nationwide
(IBD/TIPP) Biden over Sanders: +32 (62-30)
(Morning Consult) Biden over Sanders: +25 (61-36)
RON’S COMMENT: Biden leads Sanders by wide margins in both polls.
FLORIDA: PRESIDENT

Biden over Trump: +6 (46-40)
RON’S COMMENT: Two previous polls, taken in early March, had Trump ahead in the critical swing state of Florida by an average of 2.5 points. This new poll has Biden up by 6 points…. In 2016, Trump carried Florida by a narrow 1.2 points. In the last six presidential elections, Republicans won the state three times and Democrats won it three times…. As we said above, perhaps being out of the public eye is helping Biden?

RON’S COMMENT: Based on this poll, Trump is a little weaker in Florida on handling the coronavirus than he is in most national polls…. Pence, DeSantis, and Rubio are all right side up on handling the issue. Scott is slightly upside down. Fauci is the superstar of this cast.
