RON’S COMMENT: Today’s average is based on five polls, ranging from 40% (Reuters) to 46% (Rasmussen). Without these extremes, it would be 44%…. President Trump’s disapproval rating averages 54% today (+1 from yesterday), which is 11 points higher than his approval rating.

RON’S COMMENT: This poll shows Biden and Warren fighting for the top spot with Sanders close behind. Since this poll’s September sampling, Biden is down 2 points, Warren is down 5 points, Sanders is up 5 points and Buttigieg is up 4 points…. Who can beat Trump? This poll shows 51% of Democrats giving Biden 8-10 points on a 10-point electability scale, Warren is not far behind at 49% and Sanders at 48%…. Interestingly, two of the four most recent polls put Biden in the 30s (32-33%) and two put him in the 20s (23-26%). Three of these polls have Warren second and one has her third.

RON’S COMMENT: This is the third Iowa poll in a row showing Biden running fourth in Iowa, an inauspicious place to be for a frontrunner. Two out of these three recent polls put Buttigieg in second place.

RON’S COMMENT: Half of the electorate believes there was a quid pro quo. By party: 79% of Democrats, 39% of independents and 14% Republicans say so…. Also: 51% say that if there was a quid pro quo, it’s an impeachable offense and 37% say it’s not.
