TRUMP JOB APPROVAL: AVERAGE 45%

RON’S COMMENT: Today’s average is based on three polls, ranging from 43% (Reuters) to 46% (The Economist, Rasmussen). President Trump’s disapproval rating averages 52% today (-1 from yesterday), which is 7 points higher than his approval rating.

WISCONSIN: PRESIDENT
Among voters statewide

Among all general election voters:
Joe Biden (D) over Donald Trump (R): +9 (51-42)
Bernie Sanders (I/D) over Donald Trump (R): +4 (48-44)
Elizabeth Warren (D) and Donald Trump (R): even (45-45)
Kamala Harris (D) and Donald Trump (R): even (44-44)
 
RON’S COMMENT: This was a critical state for Trump in 2016, a state he won by a small margin. This poll shows Biden with a solid lead and Sanders with a more modest advantage. Trump’s job rating in Wisconsin is 45% approve/53% disapprove.
 
Among Democratic primary voters statewide:
Joe Biden: 28% 
Bernie Sanders: 20%
Elizabeth Warren: 17%
Pete Buttigieg: 6% 
Kamala Harris: 3%

RON’S COMMENT: Biden holds the lead in the Wisconsin primary, with Sanders and Warren vying for second place.

RON’S COMMENT: 83% of Democrats, 59% of independents, 37% of Republicans, 59% of men, 62% of women, 70% of voters 18-29, 54% of voters 65+, 59% of whites, 66% of blacks and 62% of Hispanics say climate is changing as a result of human activity.
 
How concerned are you about climate change? 
 
Very/somewhat concerned: 66%

RON’S COMMENT: 89% of Democrats, 58% of independents, 44% of Republicans, 60% of men, 69% of women, 73% of voters 18-29, 60% of voters 65+, 60% of whites, 76% of blacks and 70% of Hispanics say they’re very or somewhat concerned.

STATUE OF LIBERTY MESSAGE

RON’S COMMENT: About the same percentage of Democrats and Republicans say the Statue of Liberty’s message applied in the past and applies now. But, 72% of Democrats and 43% of Republicans say it should apply in the future.

Approve: 54%

Sen. Ron Johnson (R) favorability rating:
Favorable: 40%
Unfavorable: 29%
 
Sen. Tammy Baldwin (D) favorability rating:
Favorable: 44%
Unfavorable: 40%
 
RON’S COMMENT: Evers was elected governor last year, defeating GOP incumbent Scott Walker. Johnson is up for re-election in 2022 and Baldwin is up in 2024.
