Trump Says Queen Had Most Fun During His Visit

President Donald Trump claimed in a phone interview with Fox News that the Queen of England had never had as much fun as she did during his state visit earlier this month.

“I have such a great relationship, and we were laughing and having fun. And her people said she hasn’t had so much fun in 25 years. Then I got criticized for it because they said we were having too much fun,” the President said for “Fox and Friends” on Friday.

Last week, the 93-year old queen hosted the President and the First Lady. During the visit, they were greeted with much pomp and dinner at Buckingham Palace, according to a spokesperson that noted they would not comment on the President’s remarks.

CNN writes that news outlets showed the “bombastic” president behaving in a composed and poised manner while in the UK.

Shortly after the UK visit, President Trump traveled to France where he commemorated the 75thanniversary of D-Day with the French president. During his trip to France, Trump called the monarch an “incredible lady,” claiming they had “a very good relationship.”

“I feel I know her so well and she certainly knows me very well right now, but we have a very good relationship also with the United Kingdom,” he said in a separate Fox News interview.

Queen Elizabeth has been on the throne since her father’s death in 1952, during which time she has met almost every American president. CNN also writes that the Queen went horseback riding and ate chile rellenos in California with President Ronald Reagan and planted a tree with President George H. W. Bush.

Trump previously met Queen Elizabeth at Windsor Castle last June.
