TRUMP JOB APPROVAL: AVERAGE 43%

RON’S COMMENT: Today’s average is based on five polls, ranging from 38% (Quinnipiac) to 48% (Rasmussen). Without these two extremes, it would still be 43%…. President Trump’s disapproval rating averages 53% today (same as yesterday), which is 10 points higher than his approval rating…. Intensity of opinion on Trump: Based on the new Quinnipiac poll, 75% of those who approve of Trump’s job performance do so intensely and 84% of those who disapprove of him do so intensely.
NORTH KOREA

Do you approve or disapprove of the way Donald Trump is handling the nation’s policy toward North Korea?
Approve: 44%
Disapprove: 45%
RON’S COMMENT: Voters are almost evenly split on Trump’s handling of North Korea. By party: 78% of Republicans, 14% of Democrats and 43% of independents approve…. But, other data from this survey is more favorable toward Trump: 54% of voters think his decision to try to create a close relationship with the leader of North Korea, Kim Jong-Un, is a “good idea.” Only 34% say it’s a “bad idea.”
IMPEACHMENT
Among voters nationwide
Do you think that Congress should begin the process to impeach President Trump, which could lead to his removal from office, or don’t you think so?
Yes, begin process: 35%
No: 59%
RON’S COMMENT: A solid majority of voters oppose impeaching Trump, which would make it politically dangerous for Democrats to begin the process. While 92% of Republicans oppose impeachment, 27% of Democrats and 60% of independents do.
TAXES FOR UNIVERSAL HEALTHCARE

Please tell me whether you agree or disagree with the following statement. “I would be willing to pay higher taxes so that everyone can have health insurance.”
Agree: 50%
Disagree: 49%
RON’S COMMENT: Americans are almost evenly split on paying more taxes to fund universal healthcare. The 50% who support doing so is down from 66% in 1993.
