RON’S COMMENT: Today’s average is based on four polls, ranging from 38% (Reuters) to 52% (Rasmussen). Without these two extremes, it would be 45%…. President Trump’s disapproval rating averages 53% today, which is 8 points higher than his approval rating.

Bad job: 69%

  • Bad job, not worst in lifetime: 26%

RON’S COMMENT: 13% of Democrats, 19% of independents and 29% of Republicans say the federal government is doing a good job…. In 1996, 36% said the federal government was doing a good job and 52% said bad job. Also, 21% in 1996 said government was the worst in their lifetime, which is about half of what it is now.

MUELLER INVESTIGATION

Do you approve or disapprove of the way [Robert] Mueller is handling this investigation?

Approve: 53%
Disapprove: 36%

RON’S COMMENT: 77% of Democrats, 21% of Republicans and 52% of independents approve of Mueller’s handling of the investigation.

If Mueller’s report concludes that Trump authorized his 2016 campaign to coordinate with the Russian government, would you support or oppose Congress impeaching Trump and trying to remove him from office?

Support impeachment: 61%
Oppose impeachment: 34%

RON’S COMMENT: 61% of all voters, including 29% of Republicans and 61% of
independents, would support impeachment if Mueller’s report concludes that Trump authorized his 2016 campaign to coordinate with the Russian government. Also, 64% would support impeachment if Mueller’s report concludes that Trump tried to interfere with the Russia investigation in a way that amounts to obstruction of justice.

Do you think Mueller is mainly interested in finding out the truth, or that he’s mainly interested in hurting Trump politically?

Finding the truth: 56%
Hurting Trump politically: 38%

RON’S COMMENT: 24% of Republicans and 57% of independents think Mueller is mainly interested in finding the truth.

Do you think Mueller’s final report on the investigation should be made public in its entirety, or not?

Yes, make public: 83%
No, don’t make public: 14%

RON’S COMMENT: Voters overwhelmingly want the entire Mueller report to be made public, including 79% of Republicans.
