Trump Says he is Not the ‘Target’ of Mueller’s Investigation

President Donald Trump on Thursday issued a report in which he states that he is not a subject of the Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into whether Trump’s campaign coordinated with Russia during the 2016 elections, Fox News informed.

Trump told the New York Times in an interview that the Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein confirmed to Trump’s team of lawyers that he is not a target of the probe.

In a statement, Trump said that he has never talked to his campaign adviser Roger Stone on the topic of WikiLeaks and rejected that he has discussed the proposed Trump Tower in Moscow.

Acting Attorney General Matthew Whitaker on Monday stated that the Russia probe is near completion.

Mueller has secured convictions of former Trump advisers including Trump’s campaign chairman Paul Manafort and National Security Adviser Michael Flynn but none of these charges directly states a criminal conspiracy with Russian officials related to efforts to interfere in the 2016 elections.

“I’ve been fully briefed, and I look forward to Mueller delivering the final report,” Whitaker said. “Right now, the investigation is, I think, close to being completed.”
