A Mexican governor and her husband, a federal senator, died in a helicopter crash on Monday, according to multiple reports.
According to Reuters, a helicopter holding Martha Erika Alonso, the new governor of Puebla state and her husband, Mexican Senator Rafael Moreno, came down near the state capital of Pubela, citing a local newspaper.
Alonso is a member of the National Action Party (PAN). She took office earlier this month.
Moreno was previously the governor of Puebla for five years between 2011 and 2017, Reuters wrote.
Reports did not immediately indicate what caused the crash or if the pilot was harmed.
