RON’S COMMENT: 11% of Democrats, 29% of independents and 61% of Republicans think Trump will cooperate with Democrats. For historical context, in 2006––52% of Americans expected then-Pres. Bush to cooperate with Democrats in Congress (compared to 33% now with Trump).

How much do you think the Democrats in Congress will cooperate with [Donald Trump] over the next two years––a great deal, a fair amount, not much or not at all?

RON’S COMMENT: 42% of Democrats, 27% of independents and 14% of Republicans think Democrats will cooperate with Trump. In 2006, 48% of Americans expected the Democrats in Congress to cooperate with then-Pres. Bush (compared to 28% now with Trump).

ANIMAL RIGHTS
Among adults nationwide 

One state has just passed a law that requires farmers to provide more space for egg-laying hens, breeding pigs and calves raised for veal. This will likely make farm animals more comfortable, while also increase the price of eggs and meat. Do you think laws like this to promote animal welfare are a good or a bad idea?

TRIVIA ANSWER

John Patterson, former governor of Alabama (1959-1963), is 97 years old. He beat out by three months the second oldest former governor, Fritz Hollings, 96, who was governor of South Carolina (1959-63).
