Conspiracy Theorist Subpoenaed by Mueller Probe Team

Jerome Corsi has been issued a subpoena by the special counsel probe led by Robert Mueller, ordering Corsi to testify before a grand jury on Friday.

Born in 1946, Jerome Corsi is an American author, conspiracy theorist, and television personality who was linked to Roger Stone, an ally to President Donald Trump, as well as InfoWars host Alex Jones.

Corsi became the D.C. chief of bureau for InfoWars in 2017, the website pushing theories on the 9/11 attack, as well as the shooting at Sandy Hook elementary. Corsi does not work at the website anymore.

The right-wing author is most noted for his help in launching the movement dubbed “Birther,” which promoted false claims that former President Barack Obama was born in Kenya and is Muslim. Donald Trump was an outspoken advocate of Corsi’s assertions and openly questioned the authenticity of Obama’s birth certificate.

Some of the books Corsi has written include Where’s the Birth Certificate? The Case That Barack Obama Is Not Eligible to Be President and Killing the Deep State: The Fight to Save President Trump.

The New York Times was the first to report about the subpoena that was issued to Corsi. His lawyer David Gray told the media outlet that Corsi will be fully complying with the Mueller team’s subpoena. Gray added that his client will be bringing his computer and cellphone to Washington, D.C. to show that he is going to be fully cooperative with the investigation.

Corsi’s attorney also said that he anticipates the subpoena has “to do with his communications with Roger Stone.”

“Robert Mueller is coming for me,” Stone wrote in an email recently sent to his supporters, in which he also asked them to donate to his legal defense fund, which he created in 2017 to help pay for his “epic fight” against the Mueller probe.
