Sanders’ Father, Mike Huckabee, Lashes Out at CNN’s Acosta

The Former Governor of Arkansas and Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders’ father, Mike Huckabee, on Friday bashed at CNN reporter Jim Acosta after he had a heated discussion with Sanders the day before.

According to The Hill, Huckabee targeted Acosta, who has been at the center of a firestorm over President Trump and the press, in a series of tweets after he and Sanders engaged in a tense conversation over President Donald Trump’s attacks on the press during Thursday’s White House press briefing.

The former governor referred to the reporter as a “BUG” in one tweet and his daughter as “the WINDSHIELD.”

“I know I’m as objective about @PressSec as @NYTimes new hateful, racist hire Sarah Jeong is about white people, but I still think @PressSec is the WINDSHIELD and little Jim Acosta is the BUG,” the former governor tweeted.

Huckabee also wrote another tweet aimed at Acosta.

“Jim Acosta suffers severe nose bleed from the elevation of his high horse. Taken to safe space and provided with Play Dough, a popsicle, pictures of a pony to color and a puppy.”

The situation comes after Thursday’s briefing, where Acosta repeatedly pressed Sanders to say she does not believe President Trump’s claims that the press is the “enemy of the people.”

“For the sake of this room, the people that are in this room, this democracy, this country … the president of the United States should not refer to us as the enemy of the people,” Acosta said during the briefing.

“His own daughter acknowledges that, and all I’m asking you to do, Sarah, is to acknowledge that right now and right here.”

Sanders responded that she shares the reporter’s passion but refused to walk back Trump’s charged rhetoric, The Hill wrote.

“I’ve addressed this question, I’ve addressed my personal feelings. I’m here to speak on behalf of the President. He’s made his comments clear,” Sanders said.
