Kelly Questions What Ivanka and Jared Do

White House chief of staff John Kelly is apparently frustrated with the White House advisers Jared Kushner and his wife Ivanka Trump. The Associated Press reported on Monday that Kelly questioned what the couple does during the day.

Sources told the Associated Press that Kelly is furious at the pair, claiming that they are the ones responsible for President Donald Trump changing his mind on policies at the last minute. According to the Associated Press, Kelly is upset by the couple’s “freelancing.”

The news report comes a week after Kelly downgraded Kushner’s security clearance, which limited his access to sensitive information, following a review of White House staffers’ security clearances. Kushner and Ivanka Trump reportedly viewed Kelly’s work on the clearances as a direct attack on them.

In the last few weeks, a series of news stories about Kushner not limited to reports of his downgraded security clearance appeared.

Meanwhile, The New York Times reported last week that President Trump is frustrated with the coverage, and is quietly looking for ways to remove Kushner and his daughter from the White House. The Trump family is also reportedly upset with Kelly, blaming him for the negative reports about Kushner.

In a statement last month, Kelly said that he has “full confidence” in Kushner to do his job.

“As I told Jared days ago, I have full confidence in his ability to continue performing his duties in his foreign policy portfolio including overseeing our Israeli-Palestinian peace effort and serving as an integral part of our relationship with Mexico,” he said. “Everyone in the White House is grateful for these valuable contributions to furthering the president’s agenda. There is no truth to any suggestion otherwise.”

However, according to the Associated Press, sources close to Kushner and Ivanka say that the couple has no plans of leaving Washington.
