Trump: ‘I Hope Oprah Runs so She Can Be Exposed and Defeated’

President Donald Trump attacked Oprah Winfrey on Twitter late Sunday night, writing that he hopes she runs for president so “she can be exposed and defeated.”

“Just watched a very insecure Oprah Winfrey, who at one point I knew very well, interview a panel of people on 60 Minutes,” Trump tweeted. “The questions were biased and slanted, the facts incorrect. Hope Oprah runs so she can be exposed and defeated just like all of the others!” he continued.

According to CBS, Winfrey had interviewed a group of Michigan voters for a “60 Minutes” segment that aired Sunday night. Half of the group had voted for Trump and the other half had not.

The whole noise about Oprah Winfrey running for President against Trump in 2020 started after she delivered an inspirational speech at the Golden Globe Awards. The speech centered around the #MeToo movement,  and raised the issue of the many sexual misconducts acts done by a powerful man in the entertainment and the political world.

“For too long, women have not been heard or believed if they dared to speak their truth to the power of those men,” Winfrey addressed the audience while accepting the Cecil B. DeMille Award at the ceremony in Los Angeles. Adding at the end of the speech, “But their time is up. Their time is up!”

Winfrey later dismissed all speculations saying that she does not have the DNA required to launch a big campaign for the White House.

“I’ve always felt very secure and confident with myself in knowing what I could do and what I could not. And so it’s not something that interests me. I don’t have the DNA for it,” Winfrey said to Laura Brown, InStyle Magazine’s editor-in-chief.

Before Winfrey dismissing the speculations, President Trump started telling reporters he did not think she would run, but if she did he believed he would beat her.

“Yeah, I’ll beat Oprah. Oprah will be lots of fun,” Trump said adding, “I don’t think she’s going to run.”
