CNN Host Don Lemon Says U.S. President Is Racist

After reports made it to the public where President Trump called El Salvador, Haiti and the African nations “s***hole countries” CNN’s host Don Lemon on his Thursday night show called President Trump “racist.”

“The president of the United States is racist, and a lot of us already knew that,” Lemon said during the show.

The Hill reported that in an Oval Office meeting with lawmakers while discussing protections for immigrants from several countries, President Donald Trump made the statement: “Why are we having all these people from s***hole countries come here?”  Trump then continued commenting, saying that the U.S. should bring in more immigrants from countries like Norway, whose prime minister he met with the previous day.

Lemon did not wait for a statement from the White House explaining this, giving his opinion that these remarks are “disgusting” and that the POTUS is racist.

“There’s another language I’d like to use, but we are on television, but you know what? They’re not shocking. They’re not even really surprising. Because this is who Donald Trump is,” the CNN host continued commenting on the incident.

When the White House did not publish any statement that would deny Trump’s unprofessional comments, you could hear the outrage that sparked from both Republicans and Democrats.

Republican Senator Orrin Hatch from Utah called on Trump to give a “detailed explanation” for his remarks, also Democratic Senator Richard Blumenthal from Connecticut called Trump’s comment “racism masquerading poorly as immigration policy.”

This is not the first time that Lemon is criticising Trump on the same topic, earlier in November Lemon slammed Trump for calling Senator Elizabeth Warren “Pocahontas” during a White House event that was honoring Native American Code Talkers.

Lemon last year got viral on when he showed a video of Trump during his election campaign where he said that he is “the least racist person that you have ever met.” On the video Lemon comment was “Just because you say you’re not racist, doesn’t make it so.”
