Donald Trump Slams Huma Abedin, Urges ‘Deep State’ DOJ to Act

President Donald Trump attacked Hillary Clinton’s aide Huma Abedin and appeared to call on the “Deep State” Justice Department to look at potential security issues in her handling of classified material after a recent email dump, Fox News reports.

“Crooked Hillary Clinton’s top aide, Huma Abedin, has been accused of disregarding basic security protocols. She put Classified Passwords into the hands of foreign agents. Remember sailors pictures on the submarine? Jail! Deep State Justice Dept must finally act? Also on Comey & others,” the president wrote on Twitter.

The person Trump was referring to is the American Navy Sailor Kristian Saucier. The sailor was put behind bars because he took an unauthorized photo inside a nuclear submarine. Fox News analyzes that Trump seemed to suggest a double standard is at play, compared with the lack of punishment for Clinton and her aides.

Last week the State Department released a batch of emails from Abedin’s account. The Federal Bureau of Investigation revealed the messages on a laptop that belonged to Abedin’s estranged husband Anthony Weiner. At least four of those documents were characterized as “classified.”

Clinton’s aide forwarded sensitive State Department emails to her personal Yahoo email account before every Yahoo account was hacked and on Aug. 24, 2009, she sent passwords for her government laptop to her Yahoo account. Former FBI Director James Comey was the one who led the Clinton investigation. During a congressional hearing, he said that he believed that Abedin forwarded the emails to her husband for him to print out so that she could give them to Clinton.

Several days before the election Comey told Congress that the FBI had found more of Clinton’s messages on Weiner’s laptop as they investigated a sexting case against him. That shook the presidential race and reopened the case against Clinton.
